Join us for Hoplologia’s Annual Symposium and General Meeting, which will be held this year in Dearborn, Michigan: just outside The Motor City.
This year’s event will include classes, workshops and discussions on a variety of topics covering historical context, reenactment skills, martial, material and musical culture, a gear swap/blanket sale, and a great deal of socializing. There’ll be something for everyone! Also: proximity to really good middle eastern food, and some really cool museums. The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and The Detroit Institute of Arts I recommend, but unfortunately Greenfield Village will be closed during the event.
On Friday and Saturday, lunch and a light breakfast will be included with the event.
On Saturday night, there’s an optional catered dinner (separate cost from registration, more details below).
This event is open to members and non-members alike. This is good time to meet us if you are considering joining us!

Optional Saturday Night Dinner
Saturday night, we have arranged for a catered family-style dinner at a nice local Italian restaurant, Andiamo Dearborn. We have a private room that will accommodate up to 50 people from 6-10 PM. While the setting is distinctly modern, you are welcome (and Melissa would say encouraged!) to pull out your 14th Century finest, or come in modern attire.
The meal will consist of salad, bread, entree, pasta, dessert service, and choice of soft drinks for $50 USD (includes tax & service charge). A cash bar will be available in the main restaurant. The two entrees options are NY Strip Steak with wild mushrooms and onions, or Chicken Piccata.
For folks with special dietary needs we can work with the restaurant to make sure you're accommodated. Please specify any specific needs in the registration form, and we’ll be in touch.
For kids (10 and under) who may be coming, it will be possible to order as needed off the restaurant's kid's menu (kids plates are about $11 USD).
To help keep costs for the main event down, this charge is separate. Also, we need to have a final headcount by 9 February, so please be aware of this when registering. We cannot add people after that.
