We will kick off the reenacting season in style with an archery focused event located near Toronto.
On Saturday, we will begin with some practice archery in the morning, as well as some open fencing if people so desire.
In the afternoon we are planning to offer an obstacle course, with different stations, most likely in teams. One of the stations will include lighting a fire, and boiling a small amount of water in a medieval manner with flint and steel, so you may want to brush up on your fire lighting skills! The obstacle course will involve arrow shooting, and some live cutting as well as some axe throwing if possible. Participation is of course optional.
You may also be asked to share a song or poem or riddle with your May Queen, so see if you can learn something of the sort to entertain their majesty. This year we hope to select the Queen on Friday evening by general acclaim. Anyone can put themselves forward for the role, and they will be master of the revels for the weekend. The Queen can offer a speech about what an excellent queen they would be, discuss their clothing excellence or wow the crowd however they see fit! Saturday evening we will sacrifice John Barleycorn, to herald the coming spring.
Sunday morning we will aim to have some more sparring and range shooting before tear down begins.
NOTE - unfortunately crossbows are not allowed at the site.
If you are not already in a messgroup for eating, you will be assigned to one. This event is for people affiliated with Rangers of the North or Hoplologia.
All adults must register separately.
Cost for the event is 70 for adults and 55 for youths under 18
Food will be handled separately, at the event by your messgroup leader and will cost around 40 for the event give or take.
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT ARE SEPARATE FORMS. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO BOTH.
